Available for all major current operating systems.
Step 1: Download the Daedalus Wallet
The wallet can be downloaded directly from the official website at the LINK below. Daedalus is available for all three major desktop operating systems: Windows, Mac, and Linux.
In this case, the 64-bit version of Windows was chosen. The size of this version is around 226 MB.
Step 2: Wallet Sync
Once Daedalus has started, it will be necessary to wait a certain time in which the entire Cardano blockchain will be synchronized. You will need to be patient as this may take some time (about 30 minutes on average).
Step 3: Creating the Wallet
In the first window, simply click on "Create / Create" to start the process of creating a personal wallet.
A name, even a fictitious one, will need to be entered for the wallet to continue creating the password. A strong password is required that contains at least 7 characters, one of which must be an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, and at least one number.
Then the seed will be displayed. It is a sequence of 12 words that, for security reasons, must be written on a sheet of paper. The seed is of vital importance and should never be lost or shared with anyone, otherwise it will be impossible to access the funds.
Step 4: The Daedalus Home Page
Once the wallet creation phase is complete, the user is redirected to the Daedalus home page. Here it is possible to see the balance, send and receive Cardano (ADA) and check the history of transactions sent and received.
For example, if the user wants to send ADA from the personal wallet to a specific address, he can simply go to the "Send / Send" section, enter the alphanumeric address and the amount of ADA to send and click the "Send / Send" button. Send.
Once this operation has been completed, it is possible to check the status of the transaction in the Cardano blockchain explorer.
