If this is your first time using Dogecoin, or someone who just wants to learn how the system works before taking the plunge, I highly recommend that you visit the official Dogecoin site to read and understand cryptocurrencies better.
Returning to the application itself, Dogecoin Wallet is not an official application for said cryptocurrency; Its source code is actually based on Andreas Schildbach's Bitcoin Wallet, although it claims to be very secure.
The app's home screen displays your Dogecoin address (along with your QR code), as well as the balance in your wallet. You can swipe across the bottom of the screen to quickly view 'Sent' and 'Received' Dogecoins, or all transactions, in the 'Both' section.
Of course, the focus here is to allow you to exchange Dogecoins on your mobile device, which means that you can send or receive your payments with a few taps on the screen. All you have to do is enter the amount of Dogecoins you need to trade, the address of the recipient or who will receive said currency to process the transaction.
Dogecoin Wallet also allows you to manage your Dogecoin address book, allowing you to add new addresses to your wallet. However, once an address has been added, it cannot be removed from the app.
While you wouldn't try your luck at any cryptocurrency anytime soon (centralized payment systems like PayPal and Visa are simply more reliable), those looking to manage their Dogecoins on Android can give this app a try.
