The musician made a series of bets using bitcoin on Thursday worth a total of $1.3 million, including one for about $475,000 on the Los Angeles Rams' victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
He also bet $395,000 on the Rams catcher. Odell Beckham Jr. will have "more than 0.5 touchdowns at any time," according to a screenshot of his bet.
Drake's payout could reach $2.3 million, based on the valuation of bitcoin by online betting app Stake at the time the pool was held.
"All bets are off in the family," Drake said in a post on his Instagram account where he shared images of his bitcoin bet.
Beckham Jr. responded with a comment: "The time has come." Last year, the soccer star announced that he intends to receive his "new salary" from the National Football League in bitcoin, as part of a deal with Cash App, Block Inc.'s phone payment service.
Viewers of this year's Super Bowl will hardly escape the hype around cryptocurrencies.
Other sports betting platforms are even offering bets on digital assets that appear in the Super Bowl. For example, punters can play crypto tokens to see if Bored Ape, a popular type of non fungible token (NFT), shows up on screen.
Since its November peak, Bitcoin's price has fallen by around 37% and was trading around $43,700 on Friday.
