YouTube intends to launch a large number of updates to its platform this year, in order to make it easier and more efficient. Neal Mohan, the company's product manager, announced this Thursday the main new features that will arrive on the website in 2022.
According to a statement posted on the official YouTube blog, each of those innovations is based on a large amount of discussion and data. Between the updates are new features and options for both content creators and viewers.
For creators:
There will be changes when it comes to streaming videos on YouTube Live. A new feature will be 'collaborative' live streaming, which will allow multiple creators to appear on the same video without the need for complex setup. YouTube hopes this will make it easier for creators who don't know what to talk about during a broadcast to craft content.
There are also new features coming for YouTube Shorts creators. Updates include new video effects and editing tools. Shorts authors will have new ways to earn money, including the opportunity to create branded content through BrandConnect, add Super Chat functionality for paying subscribers, and offer the option to purchase directly from shorts.
For the users:
Among the novelties is an update to YouTube TV, which this year will exhibit a new version with a more optimized interface. Viewers will be able to use their mobile phones while watching YouTube on TV, for example to read, post comments or share videos.
In addition, the company is developing a function called 'Shopping', through which users will be able to buy items in the application. As part of this option, they will also have the opportunity to search and purchase the products that the creator shows in their video.
In addition, they will get new opportunities with the YouTube Studio feature, which will help them create content. This tool, based on massive amounts of data from YouTube and Google, will allow them to learn more about the interests and desires of viewers.
