Fed requires Voyager to withdraw false claims that deposits are FDIC insured
Cryptocurrency exchange Zipmex, which operates in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and Australia, released a statement this week debunking reports that it has filed for bankruptcy and announcing its progress in resuming withdrawals from its Z Wallets.
Zipmex stopped all withdrawals from its platform on July 20, but resumed withdrawals from the Trade Wallet two days later. The company cited its exposure to defaults from Babel Finance and Celsius as a reason for the suspension of withdrawals. Babel Finance owed Zipmex USD 48 million and Celsius USD 5 million.
Zipmex makes two wallets available to its customers: the Z Wallet, which is used for Zipmex services and the receipt of earnings and rewards, and the Trade Wallet, in which fiduciary currency and funds are kept for trading operations.
