Jane Castor, the mayor of Tampa Bay, Florida, has announced that she will begin accepting her salary in Bitcoin (BTC), according to multiple sources who attended the Florida Bitcoin & Blockchain Summit.

Castor made the announcement Friday morning on the second day of the Summit, which is held at the Amalie Arena in downtown Tampa. According to people who attended the event, cryptocurrency lending platform Celsius Network will facilitate BTC payments from the mayor.
